The first time we laid eyes on the Dell Studio 1537, we couldn’t help but get interested and want to know more about it. Smooth. Sleek. Striking. This laptop is a thing of beauty. It’s as if an artist was commissioned to create it. Every nook and cranny fits and contributes to the whole design.

As soon as you get pass the design, you’ll realize it’s a consumer device best suited for the user looking for a multi-media experience from a laptop. The “Studio” designation is actually a hint that it is targeted for audio-video buffs. It has a bright and sharp, high definition display with an aspect ratio of 16:9 (considered as the native aspect ratio for HDTV programming) accompanied by high-definition audio in surround sound configuration — ideal for watching movies.

Consistent with the rest of the Dell Studio series, the Dell 1537 laptop is smooth to the touch and the build quality is quite good. The weight and thickness are qualities you have to get used to with this device. CPU options are up to Intel Core Duo T9400 with 2.53GHz and RAM is upgradeable up to 8GB. For operating system, specs can be had up to Windows Vista Ultimate.

PROS

The Dell Studio 1537 laptop is stylish and gives an impression of being pricey without the corresponding price tag. It has an awesome LCD display; it is armed with a fast processor and its battery life and multimedia features are well suited for audio-video purposes – whether viewing or editing.

CONS

Admittedly, this laptop is in on the bulky side and quite heavy. Ventilation is an issue as it easily gets warm. And, some users admit that the webcam quality and the speakers are not up to par.

CONCLUSION

LaptopLogic.com’s review says it’s “a sight for sore eyes” and that “the Studio looks like a solid value.” Laptopical.com says “The Dell Studio 1537 is a beautifully designed laptop that manages to look good without sacrificing computing power or running up the starting price.” We agree that it is one fine-looking laptop and great for the purpose it was intended for.
