The Acer Travelmate 6593 is one of the many models of the Travelmate series produced by fifth leading computer manufacturer Acer. From the beginning, Acer has branded the Travelmate series as the perfect business companion. From such a description, you can safely assume that the Travelmate 6593 is geared towards the entrepreneur.
There are certain features that a business-oriented laptop should have. One of these is the flexibility and the power needed to multi-task. Second, does it have enough battery power so that you can use it conveniently on the road? This and other questions can be answered through this in-depth look at the pros and the cons of the Travelmate 6593.

PROS:
One of the strong points in the Travelmate 6593’s design is its decently sized liquid crystal display. The LCD screen is sufficiently sized at 15.4 inches, and has a maximum resolution of 1280×800 just like some of its siblings in the Travelmate series like the 5530. The resolution allows for more windows to be stacked side by side, an essential requirement for multi-tasking. There are times that a businessman would have to read or compare two documents at once, and it is simply time-consuming and confusing to transfer from one window to another.
The Travelmate 6593’s battery life seems very promising as well. Many times thelaptop would have to be used away from the power supply, i.e. long trips aboard airplanes, where he would need to open the laptop to review documents or to fill the time by listening to music or watching a movie. The 6 hours that the battery promises to give is more than enough for that.
Similar to the 5530, 6493 and the other Travelmate laptops it came out with, the 6593 has a hard drive capacity of at most 320 gigabytes. That’s more than enough room for important files as well as some miscellaneous items like movies, music and others. The hard drives are also built with Acer’s proprietary Disc Anti-Shock Protection Technology or DASP. The DASP is designed to protect the 6593’s hard drives from shock damage, as well as protect the data inside the hard drive from being lost. How does it do that? The DASP automatically shuts down the hard disks when the sensor detects free-fall movement.
Last but not the least is its memory and processing power. With 2.53 GHz and a capacity of at most 4 gigabytes, the Acer Travelmate 6593 is poised for the performance that is sought from it.
CONS:
As with most of the Travelmate series including the 5530 and 6493, the Travelmate 6593 is not equipped with a separate graphics card. Instead, its graphics adapter is integrated into the chipset. Specifically it has the Intel (R) Graphics Media Accelerator. This seriously limits the amount of graphic processing that the laptop can do. This means that it cannot process heavy duty graphics like 3D, and thus it cannot play most of the latest games in the market. It doesn’t mean one cannot play games in the 6593; however, one is limited to the number of games that they can install and play in the laptop.
CONCLUSION:
To summarize and conclude, the Travelmate 6593 has the necessary processing power to ensure smooth processing of programs with minimal lags in the system. Plus it has enough space for the storage of important files and data. It is a little bit weak on the graphics side, however. The battery life is highly impressive.
The 6593 is undeniably ideal for the businessman. It is not a gaming platform. Older games would do fine in the 6593, but it won’t do for the latest games that require heavy processing in both graphics and memory.
