One of the two UX series laptops produced and announced by Asus in the second quarter of 2009, the Asus UX50V promises a more powerful performance as compared to the other notebook, the UX30.
First off, it has a larger screen at 15.6 GHz with a native resolution of 1366×768. This screen is capable of HD output as well. This would mean greater clarity and detail, making this notebook’s screen friendlier to the eyes. These dimensions also make it ideal for tasks such as video and photo editing where you need to have access great detail to do the job. For gamers, gaming is also more fun and easier with these display capacities.
That is where the other difference between these two laptops lies. The Asus UX30 comes with only an integrated Intel Graphics Accelerator, which greatly limits the games and other visually related processes that the notebook can take on. With the UX50V, however, people can now do gaming on an Asus notebook. This notebook is equipped with a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce G105M graphics card. This card has a very powerful VRAM of 512 megabytes to allow it to render more detailed graphics during gameplay.
The UX-50V gives the user a wide variety of configurations to choose from. You have a choice of three processors: an Intel Core2Duo Processor at 1.6 Ghz, a Core Solo Processor at 1.4 Ghz and a Pentium M at 1.3 GHz. All of these processors come with Intel’s CULV technology or the Consumer Ultra Low Voltage technology to minimize power consumption as well as keep heat emission at a low figure.
Furthermore, the processors are backed by a good amount of memory. The UX-50V can have up to 4 gigabytes of random access memory. This, together with processors, promises a performance that will be seamless and lags that are non-existent while using the notebook.

Pros:
One thing that a consumer will certainly like about the Asus UX50V is its graphics card. This gives them a choice between this notebook and the other, the less powerful notebook – the UX30 – since this one is certainly able to handle things that the UX30 cannot. The UX50V’s screen and its high native resolution will certainly be welcomed by all as well.
Cons:
Perhaps the one thing that can turn people off from this notebook is its exorbitantly high price. Only those who don’t particularly care about matters such as pricing will consider this model when shopping.
Conclusion:
If you can afford the price tag that is placed next to the UX-50V, this notebook would be a very good investment for you. In exchange for your investment, you get access to very powerful choices of processors, a high memory capacity, and the ability to play demanding games.
Despite the price tag, one can see that the UX-50V is definitely capable of a lot of things. You can perform a lot of tasks with it, giving you good value for the money you spend for acquiring it.
