Featured in: Dell Studio Series.
The Dell Studio XPS 13 is one of the five units produced by Dell as an answer to the world’s need for a personalized and customizable laptop that can suit just about any need. Plus, its XPS tag is meant to indicate its capacity to accommodate extreme performance requirements.
For starters, it is given a 2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 processor. This is supported by SDRAM capacity of up to 8 gigabytes in DDR3 memory. You can expect smooth operation with the XPS 13, even if it is processing some of those heavier programs like photo editing software and others. This is complemented by a range of powerful processors to choose from: you can select the GeForce 9400M G chipset which does not have its own video memory, or you can pick the GeForce 9500M and GeForce G210M graphics cards with memories of 256 megabytes and 512 megabytes, respectively.
Like all of the Studio series, the specifications of the XPS 13 are all intended to suit whatever needs a person can have for his laptop. With the GeForce 9500M and the GeForce G210M, a user has the capabilities to do some gaming whether softcore or hardcore. If one wants to do heavier gaming, the GeForce G210M video card is best suited for such a need, for instance.
Of course, there is always the need for a high capacity hard disk. This is because of the need to archive files for easy access, something that is difficult to do with compact discs or data DVDs especially when they get too many. With the options one has for hard disk space with the XPS 13 (up to 500 gigabytes of hard disk space), there is always room for your files. You won’t have to back them up to CD or DVD often as well.
For its display, the Dell Studio XPS 13 is equipped with a 13.3-inch glossy LCD. Though small, the screen is still able to give out enough details and clarity of display for the benefit of the user. The problem is that some people might find the screen too small for comfort, though its resolution makes up for its size.

PROS
The Studio 13 laptop has some neat tricks up its sleeve. With its powerful processor and its hefty RAM size, users will be pleased to know that they can process more programs without having to worry about lagging and glitches. For those video game freaks, they will surely love the availability of a 512-megabyte video card that is the Nvidia GeForce G210M as an option.
CONS
One thing that most buyers may not like about the Dell Studio 13 is its screen size. At 13 inches, it is a tad small than what most people are used to but Dell has compensated for that by providing it with a resolution wherein details are easily discernible by the user.
CONCLUSION:
Despite its small size, the Dell XPS Studio 13 is a laptop to be reckoned with. It has everything that the average user and perhaps even the most demanding computer user can look for: a powerful processor, lots and lots of RAM and good options for graphics adaptors. The model carries a price that ranges from $949 to $1,149.
