CTL TW9

The CTL TW9 is one of three laptops to feature the younger brother of the Core i7, the Core i5. The 15.6-incher CTL TW9 has some wonderful things in store for any computer user out there.

Running at a speed clocked at 2.53 GHz, the CTL TW9 is armed with a memory capacity of 2 gigabytes. Though smaller than most notebooks, the CTL TW9 nevertheless has enough in its arsenal to make short work of any task that you set it up against. You can do anything from the average computing requirements up to the more demanding tasks like gaming and 3D graphics.

This is possible because of the dedicated graphics card that the laptop is installed with. The Nvidia GeForce 9600-GS has 512 megabytes, which can let you play most of the games in the market although the newer ones are more demanding and would require more video memory to render. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything for you to play with anymore.

Space is not a problem with the CTL TW9 either. It has a very fat 320 gigabytes of hard disk space ready to accommodate every file that you can cram into it. This would please hardcore downloaders and uploaders out there. HD movie files, for example, eat so much space but with 320 gigabytes, you can store at least 80 movies without having to move them over to an external storage like DVDs. Just in case you have to, the CTL TW9 is also equipped with a DVD writer that you can use to burn the movies unto optical discs.

Speaking of HD, this laptop is geared to provide a full HD experience. It has an HDMI port, which you can use to plug the notebook into a full-sized HDTV for viewing with more people. So, if you have friends coming over and you want to share an HD movie that you have just downloaded, grab the cord and hook the TW9 into your HDTV. Even when viewing HD movies on the 15.6-inch display, you still have the experience of hearing excellent audio through its built-in high definition audio and its omnidirectional stereo speakers.

The CTL TW9 comes with a wide array of connectivity options as well. It has ports for CRT, an ExpressCard/54 slot, an RJ-11 modem, a pair of USB ports, a card reader and an Ethernet port. You can also choose to add a BlueTooth receptor.

The CTL TW9 has an estimated price of $1,000.

SPECS
Processor Intel Core i7 (820QM 1.73 GHz, 720QM 1.6 GHz)
Memory 2 GB DDR3
Operating system Windows 7 Professional
Hard drive 320 gigabytes SATA
Graphics Nvidia GeForce 9600 512 MB

PROS

The CTL TW9 has potential for glitch-less performances due to its muscled processor and fat RAM capacity.  It is quite useful since the laptop runs on a Windows 7 operating system. The laptop also has a very big space to store files in.

CONS

Although the video card is decent, it still lacks enough RAM to run newer games that require upwards of 1 GB to be rendered properly.

CONCLUSION

With the Core i5 processor marshalling its operations, the CTL TW9 is worth the money you’ll be investing in it. This is a platform that can do a lot of tasks for you, including gaming.
